I see art as a means of expressing ideas and emotions that words sometimes cannot fully communicate. My work is driven by curiosity, observation, and a desire to understand the world around me, particularly the stories people carry and the experiences that shape who they become. My practice spans drawing, painting, and printmaking, combining expressive imagery with thoughtful visual storytelling. I am interested in the human figure, facial expressions, symbolism, and the different ways visual elements can communicate deeper meanings. I work with acrylic paint, oil paint and highlighter pens, exploring colour, texture, contrast, and detail to develop my visual language. I also create digital prints, allowing my ideas to exist in different forms and reach wider audiences. My choice of materials and techniques evolves with each work, depending on the subject, concept, and emotions I seek to communicate. My work exists within the broader context of contemporary art, where experimentation, personal expression, and engagement with social and cultural realities are central. I am particularly interested in the relationship between individual experiences and the environments that shape them. My Nigerian background informs my perspective, influencing how I observe, interpret, and represent the world around me. Through my practice, I engage with ideas of identity, culture, and belonging while remaining open to different influences and approaches. Rather than confining myself to a single movement or style, I continue to explore and develop my own visual language. Ultimately, I want my work to invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the ideas and experiences presented before them. For me, art is not simply about what is seen, but also about what is felt, remembered, questioned, and understood.
