HEART ASCENDANCE

Johnmark Agbabiaka is a Nigerian visual artist whose practice is rooted in memory, history, and cultural identity. Inspired by childhood experiences around his mother’s batik table, he developed an early appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and storytelling, which continues to shape his visual language. Working primarily in painting, he explores themes of migration, belonging, and the relationship between the past and the present through symbolic imagery. His work has been exhibited in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He is also committed to mentorship through Artist Discipleship Foundation and nurturing emerging artists.
