Most shows are announced and then staffed. This one is being built the other way round.
Before a venue is booked or a date is printed, We Are Outside is finding out who wants to be part of it: the volunteers who will run the doors and the floor, the business owners who want a stall, the artists, singers, DJs and dancers who want the stage, and the creators who will carry it online. Everyone signs up by name, with the handles they actually use and a number the team can reach them on.
Those sign-ups decide the scale of the show, and the scale of the show decides the room it needs. When the venue and the date are settled, everyone who signed up hears it first.
Elijah Snoz is volunteering on it, the same as everyone else on the list.
Our Goals
Assemble the line-up first
Find the volunteers, performers, creators and business owners the show is actually made of, before anything is announced.
Confirm a venue in Abuja
Sized to the number of people who have signed up, not guessed at in advance.
Confirm a date
Announced to everyone who signed up before it goes anywhere else.
Record who took part
Everyone who shows up is recorded by name, so the show is attributed to the people who made it and not to the poster.
