Eriga Okpako
- Painter
Abuja, Nigeria
Eriga Okpako is a Nigerian visual artist and painter based in Abuja. His works are recognized for their emotionally charged scribbling technique and detailed hyper-realistic execution. Through layered lines and monochrome contrast, he transforms human emotion and movement into visually immersive experiences.
In their words
“My work is an exploration of the human form through the rhythmic application of expressive scribbling techniques. My process is a testament to the idea that complex emotional depth can be achieved through a minimalist, linear approach, where light, shadow, and texture are defined by the movement of the hand. My practice seeks to capture the quiet intensity of the human experience. By contrasting monochromatic linework against deep negative space, I create an intimate, meditative space that bridges the gap between the viewer and the subject.”

The archive
Planet-B does not only preserve artworks. It preserves the people, the materials, the ideas and the circumstances that give those works meaning.
That is why this page holds more than a picture and a title. Eriga Okpako’s contribution to Planet-B is one work in one chapter, and it was made by somebody with a career that reaches far outside it. The archive records both, keeps them clearly apart, and does not flatten one into the other.
Identity
Planet Passport
A permanent identifier for one person's contribution. It is not a profile and it is never a score: it exists so that a record can still be found, and checked, long after the people who made it have moved on.
